Push To Be Great takes a mentorship approach to develop young student athletes, and community members to elevate in academic advancement, athletic training, business and community service. The goal is to inform what’s unknown, build up, motivate, provide what's needed, and " Push our Youth to Be Great".
We recognize that there are many young athletes that come from under-served communities across the country that have missed out on a significant information, and scholarships opportunities, because they haven’t had proper guidance and training. Push To Be Great is a 501c3 organization that will provide these young athletes with elite sports performance training, academic assistance in the form of test preparation tutoring and mentorship programs for those that may have challenges that are preventing them from achieving their goals.
Our flagship sports outreach program is an outreach program where we will assist, train and educated athletes in the Chicagoland and the southwest Florida areas. Athletes train with former pro football players to teach them skills they will need to get college recruiting attention. We also take our athletes on college campus visits to introduce them to coaches that may offer our college scholarships. Those student-athletes that may need but cannot afford tutor assistance for the ACT and SAT tests, take part in a weekly test prep program that teaches them different test taking techniques, and more, to help them navigate properly through these tests. The bottom line is we want to enhance our student-athletes’ athletic, academic and social profile to make them most attractive to colleges, across the country.
Our third program focuses on community outreach and support. We are a community based, non-profit organization committed to youth and community. We collaborate with residents and organizations in the Chicagoland area to host events, provide programs, food, information, and respond to needs and community-identified opportunities. We recognize many challenges of families and create programs that address the specific needs of diverse groups, including children, students, older adults and families.
